TEDxYouth@NPSKRM

Learning becomes fun when perspectives converge and reimagine the status quo! TED Talks do just that. NPS Koramangala proudly hosted the second edition of TEDxYouth@NPSKRM on 23rd November 2024 under the inspiring theme Innovate to Elevate. The event celebrated creativity and unconventional thinking to ignite change and embrace innovation for a better future.

Under the guiding light of our Principal, Ms. Jyotsna Nair, and the shining presence of Dr. Bindu Hari, Vice-Chairperson of NPS Group of Schools, NAFL, and TISB, the event unfolded with much fervour and enthusiasm. Speakers from a variety of platforms shared the insights and experiences they gathered on their journey of purposeful living.

Ms. Nidhi Mishra, Founder & CEO of Bookosmia was the first speaker who enraptured the audience with her thoughts on how every child deserves to be celebrated and the importance of finding ways to elevate self-expression. Being a well-acclaimed publisher herself, she emphasised the need to create unbiased opportunities in writing since EVERY CHILD HAS A STORY TO TELL. The next speaker Dr. Tristha Ramamurthy, Vice President of CMR Group, Founder of Ekya Schools & Provost of CMR University, threw light on the significance of teaching as a career and the role of educators in constructing a meaningful life. She envisioned a new renaissance for the teaching community in the coming years through elevated teaching methodologies. The third speaker, our very own dynamic student of Grade 12, Divya Gopal, introduced to the audience her efforts in empowering young, creative minds through her project named The Four Sparks which aims at fostering scientific temper, curiosity, and a spirit of resilience.

Mr. Niranjan Khatri, sustainability pioneer & Founder of iSambhav was the fourth speaker of the day. Mr. Khatri spoke with delight about his vigorous and empathetic attempts at ecological conservation, especially water, at ITC Bay Island, Port Blair. Through his case studies, he reminded the listeners that sustainable and regenerative changes, no matter how small, can resonate ripples of tremendous impact in the greater schema of life. Mr. Sreenivas Shankar, NPS KRM alumnus, tech entrepreneur & Co-founder of Coupl, India’s first Neobank for couples was the fifth speaker of the day. Mr Shankar charted the history and evolution of money and enlightened the audience on the significance of financial literacy. The final speakers of the day, Ohana Lahiri and Krish Jauhari, our enterprising students of Grade 12, presented the inspiration behind their project ‘Save Little Hearts’, which aims to create awareness on child sexual abuse by educating underprivileged children on safe touch, unsafe touch, response systems and much more. They shared in abundance the different ways they’ve envisaged creating a world where children feel safe, supported, and empowered.

With the vote of thanks conveyed by Rakshak Jain, the School Prefect, the event came to a fulfilling end replenished with new hopes, dreams, and the vision to Innovate to Elevate for a prosperous tomorrow!
