Children’s Day, 2025
Children’s Day was celebrated on 14th November with a programme that featured a blend of cultural performances, artistic expression and interactive entertainment. The programme commenced with a classical invocation dance, performed by Ms. Lakshmi N, which set a reverent tone for the event. This was followed by a witty and imaginative play presented by the Grade 10 VPA students, who with a clever fusion of Shakespearean English and contemporary slang/argot/colloquialisms, delivered a humorous act that captivated the audience and showcased their theatrical talent.
The programme continued with mellifluous renditions of songs in various languages by the music teachers. Adding to the excitement, teachers from across the school took to the stage with a series of energetic dances. These included duets, a contemporary-classical dance and a fusion piece titled Masti Ki Pathshala. Another highlight was School Life 2.0, a musical dance drama that creatively depicted the joys and challenges of student life and left the audience both entertained and nostalgic.
The support staff then danced to a medley of foot-tapping tunes – their enthusiasm was infectious and their participation added a special dimension to the event.
The finale of the programme was an innovative and interactive “phrasion show,” – a fashion show with a twist. Teachers embodied popular phrases through creative props and costumes, and the audience was actively engaged in guessing each idiomatic expression.
The event truly reflected the spirit of Children’s Day, as it not only entertained but also strengthened the bonds between students, teachers and support staff, thus making it an occasion to be remembered.
