Readathon – Book Week

Reading every day is one of the good habits one can develop. To inculcate the love for reading in our little ones, the Early Years celebrated the Book Week - ‘Readathon’ from 8th to 12th November 2021.

The various events planned during this week, helped to shed light on the positives of reading such as improved vocabulary, creative writing skills, comprehension and much more.

The entire week was filled with a variety of engrossing, fun filled activities which were thoroughly enjoyed by the children.

The activities like ‘Vocabulary Building’ ‘Word Hunt’, ‘Unscramble Me’, ‘Spell Bee’, ‘Dumb Charades’, etc. were a collaborative and active learning strategy to develop the love for reading in children.

Children were excited to participate in ‘Dress Me Up’. The little ones dressed up as a character from their favorite story and showcased their reading skills to the audience.

A virtual camping trip was organized, where children enjoyed going on a virtual trek in the forest, sitting in a makeshift tent, playing scavenger hunt game and singing around the bonfire.

A story telling session was conducted by the professionals from ‘Amar Chitra Katha’ which was well received by the children.

The Book Week was a success as it sparked enthusiasm for reading and an interest for books among our young readers.
