An impactful video highlighting the earth’s devastation through man’s greed stirred the audience's sensibilities. Ms. Nair also shared with them this year’s Environment Day’s theme- Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience and slogan -Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration. The address closed with the principal motivating the excited learners to invest their time in reading books vis-à-vis getting addicted to gadgets and underscoring the importance of self -reflection to become better versions of themselves.
Samaya Narayan, who joined the school in Grade 6 this year, shared her thoughts on Environment Day through a powerful speech on her very first day at her new school. She also spoke about a project she has undertaken, with help from her parents, to regenerate a nearby park and lake. In connection with Environment Day a movie ‘Save the Tiger’ was screened for students of Grades 5 to 9 to create awareness on why and how Project Tiger was initiated.
