Primary Sports Day – Urja 2020

NPS Koramangala celebrated its maiden Primary Sports Day – Urja 2020 with great zeal and enthusiasm on the 4th January 2020 as a spectacular start to the activities for the New Year. The mega event was graced by Mr. M.N. Anucheth, a 2009 batch IPS officer and the Director, NPS group of schools, Dr. Bindu Hari. The grand event was a show of march past, students of grade 4 and 5 created history as they performed it independently from the seniors. This was followed by a lilting rendition by the school band, exclusive displays and thrilling athletic events by students of Grades 1 to 5. Colourful bunches of balloons were released to mark the indomitable high flying spirit of the little ones as they prepared to soar high in their achievements. The customary torchlight run signified the lighting of the eternal flame.

Emphasising the need for self – discipline and team work, Mr. Anucheth cited examples from his own personal experiences. He stressed on the significance of sports in a child’s life and how long lasting friendships are formed on the playground. The well organised and mesmerising displays portrayed our rich native heritage like yoga and lezim dance. Taekwondo, colourful and vibrant drills, cheerleading teams, a plethora of athletic events and recreational races kept the adrenaline rush high. Bringing out the sportsmanship spirit in each and every one, the eventful day culminated with prize distribution. It was Voyager House that took the coveted march past trophy and the Explorer House that proudly took the overall trophy home. Kudos to the champs!!
