Urja 2024 - 2025
Urja 2024, our sports day, showcased the primary students' tour de force. It brought everyone together for a supercharged day during which participants showcased their grace and athletic skills through a variety of displays, cheerleading, yoga, and fun races and games, fostering school spirit and camaraderie.
Urja 2024-25 was one of the most awaited events of the year for us at NPS KRM. The enthusiasm for this was unparalleled, with students putting in their best, be it the displays, race or march past. Each grade has selected their theme and costume for displays meticulously.
The event was graced by the chief guest Group Captain Deepthi Mutreja, who is a distinguished Pathologist at the Command Hospital Air Force. She also hails from an illustrious military background. For the opening ceremony, she was accompanied by the guard of honour comprising Aamya Rakesh, Adyant Singh, Sarah Zakkam and Suprateek Mohapatra of Grade 5 and was led by the Sports Captain Lavith S Urs and Vice-captain Aishani Singh with precision and poise. Following this was the official opening ceremony by the Principal, Ms Jyostna Nair. The March Past by the four houses, the Challengers, Explorers, Pioneers and Voyagers was a sight to behold and was appreciated by the chief guest.
The speech by the dignitaries was food for thought for the parents, teachers and children who listened with rapt attention to their anecdotes and praise for the students. The displays soon followed. With the colourful pom-poms, Grade 1’s display, ‘Bedazzlers’ was mesmerising and surely brought a smile to every person who was witness to this cuteness. Followed by the vibrant students of Grade 2, with their colourful umbrellas and smart black and white costumes, the display was aptly titled Umbrella Euphoria. Rhythmic Rhaposdy by Grade 3 was a display merging the aspects of aerobics and Bharatnatyam and they wowed the audience with their performance to peppy foot-tapping numbers.
Grade 4 created an ambience of patriotism and discipline with their fine flags and finesse in their moves. Their display was called the ‘Beat Brigade’. The Grand finale to the displays was the Razzmatazz by Grade 5 who swiftly made various formations with the colourful sarees. Each show can be deemed as a showstopper in its own right and was a display of grace, coordination, rhythm, flow and discipline.
The Track and Field events as well as recreational events were conducted after the displays. The four houses cheered for their team with balloons, face paint and pom poms and continued to keep the air buzzing with slogans and cheers. Following this was the closing ceremony, with awards and individual trophies being presented.
The rolling trophy for March Past was won by the Challengers. The Voyagers won the overall championship and the Pioneers were the runners-up. With the clear skies, mild breeze and cheerful sunshine, URJA 2024-25 concluded with a vote of thanks for everyone who made the event a grand success.
The celebration today was a testament to the transformative power of artistic expression in fostering spiritual and cultural harmony. Each performance offered a glimpse into the richness of human creativity and collective joy. As attendees departed, they carried with them a renewed appreciation for the intersection of art, spirituality, and community.
