Handing Over Ceremony 2025
The Handing Over Ceremony, a momentous occasion marking the transition of responsibilities from Grade 12 leaders to their deputies, was celebrated on the 28th of January, 2025.
The event began with a warm welcome to the Guest of Honour, Ms. Meghana Srinivas, Founder and CEO of TrustIn, a legal tech company, and an esteemed NPS alumna from the Class of 2008, along with the Principal, Ms. Jyotsna Nair. As the ceremonial lamp was lit, students from Grades 6-9 invoked divine blessings with a harmonious fusion of Malayalam and Hindi prayers. Ms. Srinivas fondly reminisced about her school days and imparted valuable insights on the significance of learning and unlearning. This was followed by the Principal presiding over the symbolic exchange of the school flag and House flags, marking the official handing over of the leadership.
Certificates of Appreciation were conferred upon Student Council members, interschool competition winners, and students with perfect attendance. School Prefect Rakshak Jain delivered a heartfelt speech reflecting on the year’s accomplishments, expressing gratitude for the unwavering support that helped his team achieve their ambitious goals. The highlight of the event was the announcement of the Best Outgoing Student award, presented to Farid Ur Rahman Kidwai for his exceptional leadership and all-round excellence. Adding vibrancy to the ceremony, students of Grades 8 and 9 performed a captivating classical dance fusion, Samanway.
It was amazing to look back at the slew of year-long major and minor events, activities, and competitions covered in a compact presentation by the Principal Ms. Jyotsna Nair. The students’ exceptional achievements underscored the richness of these experiences. She also awarded the Inter-House Cultural Trophy to the jubilant Pioneers, the Overall Sports Trophy to the Explorers, and the Best Cheering Cup to the Challengers. Students of Grades 6-9 performed the song My Own Superhero, captivating the audience with its infectious rhythm.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Prefect Samarth D. Gawda, followed by a touching gesture from Grades 9 and 11 students, who presented Best of Luck cards to Grades 10 and 12, wishing them success in their board exams and future endeavours.
