Independence Day Celebration 2019

NPS Koramangala celebrated the 73rd Independence Day with great fervor with its students, staff and parent community. Our tricolor was proudly unfurled by one of the oldest administrative staff member, Ms. Harini who was flanked by the school council members. When the soft spoken emcee for the day Aaron Mukopadhyay of grade 11 invited Ms. Neelam Gupta, the Hindi teacher, for her speech, no one knew that the next 15 minutes would leave an indelible impression on their mind. Her impassioned address that called for honesty, dignity and need to pride in our own culture rather than aping the West foolishly shook the audience to the present reality. An impressively delivered speech by Sara Thomas of grade 9, a patriotic song medley and dance performance by students of grade 4-5, further fanned the patriotic fervor of all present there. However, the cynosure of all eyes was Arunim Ranjan of grade 5 who remarkably rendered a long humorous poem on the present political situation. The Principal, Ms. Jyotsna Nair shared some lesser known amazing facts about the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi and our brave martyrs. Ms. Nair exhorted the students to turn their attention towards our rich history before they seek inspiration outside. ‘Vaishnav Jan to Tene re Kahiye…’ in the melodious voice of Anoushka Venkatram of grade 10 summed up the programme.
