Founder’s Cup 2022

NPS Founder’s Cup, the 5th Edition, was a formidable display of skill, talent, and above all teamwork. With 16 participating teams from top schools in Bengaluru, there was a fierce battle for the coveted rolling trophy. The basketball tournament was held from the 3rd- to the 5th of November 2022 on NPS Koramangala grounds. The Sports Captain Anvita Verma addressed the U-18 Girls’ Teams, while the School’s Sports Coordinator Arjun Manoj addressed the U-18 Boys’ Teams. Both reminded the energetic and competitive players of the true spirit behind the sport of basketball. Founder’s Cup 2022 was declared open by the Principal, Ms. Jyotsna Nair. With matches taking place from 8: 30 am to 4 pm, volunteers from Grades 11 and 12 ensured that the competition continued smoothly. The whole tournament was a thrilling display of competitive basketball with many nail-biting matches coming down to the last second. With the fire of winning in their hearts, the athletes showed a stunning display of sportsmanship and respect for their fellow teams. Between the matches, entertaining dance performances by students of Grades 11 and 12 enlivened the atmosphere. The radio shack by students of Grade 12 was a constant support to the organising committee and teachers for important announcements. Semi-finals for both boys and girls were extremely close matches with results unpredictable till the final whistle. Although all teams put their best foot forward, the victors for the girls were National Public School, Rajajinagar with National Public School, Koramangala at a close second. The champions for the boys were Gear International School with National Public School, Rajajinagar coming runners up.
