Grade 9-B Assembly - Social Labels in School

“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet”
- William Shakespeare

Class 9B presented their assembly on 8th August on the topic ‘Social Labels in School’. The main objective of the assembly was to bring forward how labelling penetrates deeper than merely the surface. Through a realistic and scintillating skit the real life problems students face every day in school was depicted. The students explained in verse the negative impacts the so called oh-so-inoffensive labelling can have on impressionable minds. A couple of students eloquently spoke about the mental trauma the labelling causes and how we can reduce their impact on our lives. A Thought explained that it’s not the size of your waist or any exterior frivolous trifle that measures your worth but your true potential. A melodious song further reinforced how we all are unstoppable no matter who we are!
